Love is in the Air!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on August 4th so I decided to post some of my favorite shots from that day.  We had a Tiffany & Co. theme and I accented with touches of pink.  My husband is a HUGE sneaker collector so it was a no-brainer to surprise him with a grooms cake made to look like his favorite "Nike Tiffany Dunk".  Our cake was made to replicate Tiffany boxes with signature white bows and the flower girls held Tiffany bags instead of traditional flower baskets.  Hope you love all the details as much as we did!

Blue and White Wedding

I recently had the honor of styling a sweets table for one of my oldest friend's wedding. We've known each other since elementary school and I couldn't be happier for him and his wife...she is such a sweetheart!  Jen, the bride, gave me free reign to style the table how I saw fit.  Her only request was that it match their color scheme of blue, silver and white.  They weren't to keen on having a backdrop, so I decided to make a donut tower to serve as the focal point.  Needless to say, they were thrilled with the outcome.

Congrats again to Dennis and Jen! I am so happy that I was able to be such a big part of their special day.

This is such a sweet Valentine's Day party by Anders Ruff featured on Hostess with the Mostess.  Love the retro awning and all the cute ice cream inspired desserts!

With my birthday being the day before Valentine's, I've always wanted to have a "Valentine's" inspired birthday party.  This just gave me that extra inspiration I needed and I definitely see it happening in my future :)

How cute is this DIY yarn chandelier tutorial from Hostess with the Mostess?! I'm a sucker for hanging decor (i.e. pom-pom balls), so these are right up my alley. They would add and fun, stylish touch to any soiree'.

Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

This is the Minnie Mouse party that I created for my daughter, Gianna's, 1st birthday.  If you know me, you know I'm not really into the whole "character" theme, but Gianna LOVES Minnie Mouse.  I decided to do a fun, bold color scheme of black, dark pink and white with Minnie's signature polka dots.

I set up a small dessert table and my mother and I made all the desserts. We had white chocolate dipped marshmallow pops, sugar cookies, cupcakes and mini candy bars (store bought).  Of course, Gianna had her very own special "Minnie" cake.  Since the weather finally starts getting nice in November, we decided to do everything outside...my husband grilled up some hot dogs and hamburgers and there was a bounce house for all the kids.  The jumbo balloons that served as the dessert table backdrop came from shopsweetlulu.com and I bought the printable package from Cupcake ExpressGianna's outift was pieced together by ordering from a couple different shops on etsy (one of my favorite sites).

{A Christening fit for a Cutie}

This past weekend my husband and I celebrated our daughter's christening.  She looked absolutely adorable in her christening gown and I wanted to create an equally adorable celebration in her honor.  Considering my love of dessert tables, having one at the party was a no brainer.  Everyone in our family knows that when I throw a party I go all out.

My mom has always enjoyed baking so she was in charge of making the cupcakes and cross shaped sugar cookies.  The rest of the items on the table were store bought.  I purchased the cupcake toppers from the ever-so-fabulous TomKat Studios, and the cupcake wrappers and hershey kiss labels were purchased from Etsy.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did ;0)

My Current Obsession...

DESSERT TABLES!!

The first dessert table I ever created was at my wedding in 2007.  It featured different candies that coordinated with the colors of our wedding.  Since then I have gotten much more creative incorporating desserts and baked goods (all color coordinated of course).  Amy Atlas is a huge inspiration for me.  In my opinion, she creates some of the most beautiful dessert tables.  Above are just a few examples of her works of art.  If you'd like to see more head on over to her website www.amyatlas.com

Helane's 80th Birthday

I recently had the honor of planning an 80th birthday party for an extraordinary woman named Helane.  I used Helane's favorite colors, pink, black and yellow and incorporated them into every detail of the party.  Considering Helane is a huge lover of purses and shoes it was only natural to have a purse cake.  For an extra added touch I placed single roses at every place setting.

{Baby Shower Bliss}

I recently had a shower for my sweet baby girl who's due in November.  Considering the fact that I'm a planner by nature I just couldn't allow anyone to throw it for me.  So, I put my imagination to work and created a day that was just as sweet as my little girl.  My favorite color is pink and, at the moment, I'm craving everything sweet, so it only made sense to have a pink candy/dessert buffet.  The buffet was a mixture of candy, cake, cupcakes, mini cupcakes, chocolate covered marshmallows and cheesecake pops.  Mmmmmm. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :-)

Real Wedding: Elizabeth & Patrick

These are some pictures of a wedding I helped coordinate back in January.  The venue was a sculpture garden and served as a big part of the decor.  The bride and groom's style was simple, yet extremely elegant.  Considering the weather in January and the fact that the girls all had strapless gowns on, they wrapped themselves in luxurious pashminas after the ceremony and looked stunning.

I was so honored to be a part of their big day.  Congrats again to Elizabeth and Patrick...may you live a lifetime of happiness.
